ALBUM REVIEW: Crossfaith – Zion (EP)
Crossfaith are a band that hail from Osaka in Japan and are getting great widespread reviews all over the world and on listening to this EP it’s easy to see why. Crossing electro, metal and dubstep is proving to be quite a technique that not many artists have mastered but Crossfaith can now join the likes of Enter Shikari, Korn even Skrillex who have done it well.
Opening track ‘Monolith’ opens the EP with some real intent. The synths create a sense of anticipation and excitement before the screaming sounds of Koie Kenta vocals kick in.
New single ‘Jägerbomb’ is the real the stand out track here, from the word go the opening riff gets fists pumping before proceeding to show what heavy metal is really about. Not content with showing just their metal side, on the track ‘Dialogue’ they mangage to bring the EP to a near stand still with an electro interlude before finishing the EP in typical rip roaring style on ‘Leviathan’.
It may only be February but i’m sure this EP will be up there with some of the best records of the year. If this is just a snippet of what music they have lined up for their next full length album then bring it on.
The future is exciting for this bunch and with them joining up with Britain’s own Bring Me The Horizon as the main support on their tour we expect their fanbase to grow and grow.
