Pennsylvanian troubadour VIKESH KAPOOR lines up UK Shows

It’s been the best part of a year since Pennsylvanian songwriter Vikesh Kapoor‘s first ever UK tour, opening for The Handsome Family. Now, in 2015 he returns to the UK to captivate audiences once again with his stirring protest songs as he lines up a string of intimate dates all his own this March.

In 2014,Vikesh released his début album, The Ballad of Willy Robbins. The piece was Inspired by an experience three years ago, when Vikesh Kapoor performed at Howard Zinn’s memorial service in Boston, in front of Zinn’s family and colleagues (including Noam Chomsky). Roused by Zinn’s lifelong battle against class/race injustice, Kapoor spent the next two years in Portland, Oregon working on his full-length debut record. A concept album loosely based on a newspaper article, the album chronicles the brutal but hopeful story of a working class man who slowly loses everything: ambitions, health, family and shelter.

Vikesh Kapoor is set to play songs from his debut at a series of UK and Ireland shows kicking off at Ballydehob Levi’s on 21st Feb, before rounding off his tour on the South Coast as he calls into Brighton’s the Verdict (10th March).
