Huge Marvel Phase 3 announcements to eagerly waiting fans
Comic book fans worldwide were eagerly staring at their computer screens with bated breath and a quickening heartbeat yesterday evening, as they battled Marvel film devotees’ worst nemesis: villainous suspense.
In a much anticipated announcement that has the internet buzzing, Marvel Studios had followers on tenterhooks as they announced the full plan of release dates for movies for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which encompassed films scheduled right through to 2019.
As the excitement unfolded, covered by Marvel.com live blog, it became apparent comic book fans are going to spending a lot of time and money on cinema tickets seeing what are most likely going to be epic sequels and awesome superhero debuts.
What will be in the wake of The Avengers: Age of Ultron out in 2015, will be the third Captain America movie, Captain America: Civil War due to be released 6th May 2016. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. will reprise their roles of Captain America and Iron Man, whilst Chadwick Boseman making his debut as the Black Panther.
Also exploding onto our screens in 2016 in November will be Doctor Strange, which will be directed by horror writer Scott Derrickson. Though Benedict Cumberbatch has been rumored to be playing the titular role, Marvel has not yet revealed casting to expecting fans.
The following year will see the release date of the as yet un-named Guardians of the Galaxy sequel brought forward from July to 5 May 2017.
Stepping in to take the film’s July 2017 release date is the third installment of Thor, Thor: Ragnarok, which will again star Chris Hemsworth as the hammer wielding god and hopefully have an appearance of Tom Hiddleston, who’s Loki character is quite frankly is brilliant.
Marvel are set for a filmic hat-trick in 2017 with Chadwick Boseman taking up his role as Black Panther again, this time in the lead role in the film of the same name, due in cinemas on 3rd November
2018 is also set to be a huge year for Marvel with the hotly anticipated The Avenger’s: Infinity War Part 1 coming out in May as well as fans being treated to the first female-led Marvel film, Captain Marvel set to hit cinemas on 6th July 2018, with heroine Carol Danvers making her big screen debut. Inhumans will be released shortly after in November 2018.
What will be the fourth installment of the spectacular Avengers franchise, The Avengers: Infinity War- Part 2 will be out in May 2019, in what will cap off what looks to be a promising and epic decade of films for Marvel Studios.
