Gigantic news! – First acts announced for Manchester’s Indie All Dayer 2015
Echo & The Bunnymen and Gang Of Four have been confirmed to be on the bill for the Manchester Gigantic Indie All Dayer Vol. 2. After the success of the 2014 bash, organisers have confirmed the event will return for the Bank Holiday Saturday on 23rd May 2015 at the Manchester Academy.
Liverpool indie legends Echo & The Bunnymen will be heading up the bill with support from Leeds post-punk pioneers Gang Of Four.A total of six premier indie bands will be announced to play sets across 10 un-interrupted hours of music throughout the day.
Alongside the two bands announced today, the organisers promise that there will also be “one set of particularly special guests… [who] will be playing a truly greatest hits set”. Whilst the special guests won’t be announced until the 19th December, a further three acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Doors will open at 1.30PM and curfew will be at 11.30PM. Tickets will be priced at £25 early bird or £29 after that.
Forming from the ashes of the short-lived Crucial 3, frontman Ian McCulloch formed Echo and the Bunnymen in 1978. Since then, the band have released 12 albums, including the widely regarded Crocodiles, Heaven Up There, and Ocean Rain. This year McCulloch appeared onstage with Arcade Fire for a cover of the band’s classic single “The Cutter” as well as releasing their latest long-player Meteorites.
